7- The Web (World Wide Web) has been created by Tom Berners at the CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Geneva in 1989.

8- Geneva is part of Switzerland since 1815 only, as the canton used to be independent.

9- The second hand of the famous Flower Clock is one of the biggest in the world with its height of 2.5 meters.

10- The famous writer and philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau was born in Geneva in 1712. The house where he grew up remains in the old-town of Geneva.
