The district of Plainpalais is known for its markets and activities on the large central plain. According to the periods, circuses and fairs are established there, as well as infrastructures for major sports and cultural events. The south of the plain is bordered by a mall ideal for a walk.

Not far away is the street of the medical school, one of the most animated places in Geneva with its multitude of bars where young people like to meet in the evening for a drink.
